Strategic History

Started in Austin, Texas in 1987 with only 8 “plug-in-the-wall” telephone lines, TS2 now has 24 CATI telephone interview stations, with 16 utilizing a state-of-the-art predictive dialer. With over 50 million calls, we have worked for a very diverse group of Fortune 500 companies.

Because of the relationships we've developed with many kinds of clients, TS2 has experience with many different kinds of calling projects, including lead generation, B2B calls, market research, and public opinion surveys. However, we do not do telemarketing - TS2 does not make sales calls. Our focus is on professional, expert data collection. And that focus works to your advantage.

Research Experience  

At TS2, we have more than 15 years of experience in market and strategic research and political polling. Our experience extends to every aspect of research. We begin by determining a client’s research and strategic needs; we write the survey instrument and acquire the sample; and we perform the actual data collection. More…. Then we create crosstabs and prepare an in-depth analysis, as well as a live presentation if the client desires one

In our fifteen years’ experience, we have done work for a wide range of companies and institutions, from the University of Texas System to State Farm Insurance, from Dell Computer to Michael Angelo’s Gourmet Foods, as well as a number of counties and municipalities throughout Texas.

We have done several higher education research projects, including two for the University of Texas System, two for St. Edward’s University, two for Austin Community College and one for the University of Texas at Brownsville (evaluating voter attitudes toward a potential 2004 bond election).

One good example of our capabilities was the research we did for the St. David’s “Root Cause” health initiative. The survey instrument took almost 30 minutes to complete with respondents and required intensive training of our phone agents, since many of the questions touched on highly sensitive health and safety areas. We even brought in abuse counselors to train phoners on what to do if a respondent described abuse taking place in their home—and configured our predictive dialer to forward such calls to a trained family abuse counselor at the touch of a button, if necessary.

We have also compiled and coded previous research data, including data from in-house paper surveys, for clients. And we always urge our clients to allow us to do tracking surveys to evaluate the results of any strategy or marketing plan we devise.

TS2 has developed such a reputation for fast, accurate data collection that other researchers often hire us.


 



Technology  

The TS2 Call Center is equipped with 24 computer-aided-telephone-interviewing (CATI) stations, 16 with predictive dialer capabilities. Our call center is large enough to let us maintain high quality standards on every call. More….

For the past nine years, TS2 has been using a state-of-the-art predictive dialer, which allows us to offer a wide variety of services, including calling respondents back at the specific times they request, as well as clustering data to guarantee an appropriately random sample. Five years ago, we also added an additional CATI system to our predictive dialer.

We maintain comprehensive monitoring equipment allowing our quality assurance team to monitor and record all aspects of agent-respondent interaction.

In addition to our ‘in call’ technology, we also utilize powerful analysis software allowing us to produce detailed crosstabulation tables to enable our clients to derive the most information possible from the data collected.
